Robert W. Toan

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Toan is the Chief Executive Officer of Wafra. Prior to joining Wafra, he was a partner in the New York based law firm of Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP, specializing in international taxation, financial transactions and cross-border leasing.  From 1979 to 1998, Mr. Toan was a partner of the international law firm of Baker & McKenzie, specializing in international taxation and cross-border transactions.  Mr. Toan is the author of numerous articles on international taxation and speaks widely on international taxation and financial topics.  He is a member of the Editorial Supervisory Board of International Tax Journal. Mr. Toan received his JD and LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Law School.

Monir Barakat

President

Mr. Barakat is the President of Wafra. With other senior executives, he is responsible for WCP’s policies and strategic direction and coordinating the development of innovative investment products, including Shari’ah-compliant products with clients.  Prior to joining Wafra in 1999, Mr. Barakat had 20 years in senior management positions in the Arab American Bank, New York and Intercap Investments Inc., NY focusing on managing funds for Middle Eastern governmental entities and financial institutions.  Mr. Barakat holds an undergraduate degree from the American University of Beirut and continued his graduate business studies at Pace University, New York.

Michael Gontar

Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Gontar is the Chief Investment Officer of Wafra.  Prior to joining Wafra, he was an Experienced Associate in the Transaction Services group of the international accounting firm KPMG LLP, specializing in private equity due diligence and financial transactions.  Prior to KPMG LLP, Mr. Gontar was the President and Co-founder of a NY based real estate investment firm focused on residential properties in the NY region.  Mr. Gontar was also the Vice President and co-founder of a nationwide wholesale company where he remains on the board of directors.  Mr. Gontar is a graduate of the NYU Stern School of Business.

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Tipple is the Chief Operating Officer of Wafra.  Prior to joining Wafra, he was an Assistant Vice President at Citigroup Asset Management, now Legg Mason, a leading financial services firm where his duties included mutual fund administration, accounting and mutual fund analysis.  Overall, Mr. Tipple has nearly ten years’ experience in mutual funds and financial markets.  He received his B.S. from St. Lawrence University where he was a double major in Economics and Psychology.

Steven Tenenbayev

Managing Director

Mr. Tenenbayev is a Managing Director of Wafra.  Prior to joining in 2009, he held several positions at Milberg Factors, one of the nation’s largest privately held asset-based finance & factoring firms, ultimately being appointed Assistant Vice President and Lending Officer.  His duties included overseeing a $150 million client portfolio, monitoring client financial performance, and evaluating credit and collateral dilution risk through hands-on field examinations.  Mr. Tenenbayev has passed the Uniform CPA Examination and is a graduate of NYU Stern School of Business, where he majored in Finance and CPA Accounting.

Thana Al-Mufarrej

Director, Business Development and Marketing

Ms. Al-Mufarrej is the Director of Business Development and Marketing of Wafra.  Responsibilities include capital raising, developing new product strategies, sourcing of projects, and establishing and developing relationships with clients.  Ms. Al-Mufarrej has been at Wafra since 2005, where she participated in a Wafra sponsored investment management training program.  Prior to joining Wafra, she worked at Fidelity Investments Brokerage Company as a Financial Analyst and at Teradyne as a Process Engineer.  Ms. Al-Mufarrej completed her MBA Cum Laude, from Babson College and her undergraduate degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Boston University in both Engineering and Economics.  She also has a Certificate of Finance and Portfolio Management from New York University.

Mr. Stackhouse is a Vice President of Wafra.  Prior to joining Wafra, he was head of capital markets for HVB Capital, a subsidiary of Hudson Valley Bank, and held similar positions with Mazuma Capital, ICON Capital, and Bank of America.  Mr. Stackhouse earned his B.A. from Connecticut College and received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.

Assistant Vice President

Ms. Emin is an Assistant Vice President of Wafra.  Prior to joining Wafra, she was an Audit Manager in the Financial Services group of the public accounting firm Eisner LLP, where her duties included the planning and performance of financial statement audits of hedge and private equity funds and broker / dealers.  Prior to Eisner LLP, Ms. Emin was a Statutory Financial Accountant at GE Capital Finance.  Ms. Emin is a Chartered Accountant, of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and completed her Bachelor of Commerce / Bachelor of Arts at The University of Melbourne (Australia) with a double major in Accounting and Anthropology and a minor in Finance.

Simon Graduate School of Business, where he majored in Finance and Corporate Accounting.  He has passed the CFA Level II exam and is pursuing the CFA designation.

Ms. Muslih is a Senior Executive assistant to both the President and CEO of the Company.  Souhaila has more than 25 years of experience in administrative duties.  She is Bilingual, performing day-to-day tasks including translation from Arabic to English and vice versa.  She joined Wafra in February 2000.   Before joining Wafra, Souhaila worked at the Arab American Bank in New York, helping the Board of Directors.  Ms. Muslih graduated with a Commercial Certificate of Business Administration & Secretarial from College Belic Beirut – Centre Superieur D’etudes in Lebanon.
